Exhibit and Interpretive Design :
Hurricane Havoc
On the anniversary of the devastation of Hurricane Juan in Nova Scotia, the Maritime Museum of the Altantic mounted a portable exhibit on the storm's impact. A feature of this exhibit was a magnetic map to track progress of tropical storms and hurricanes in the north Atlantic. Using a steel panel with a map graphic, strips of magnetic colour and names are added each day as the course of the storms are monitored. In the off-hurricane season, this map is repurposed to track incidents of marine piracy around the world.
